Dr. Lydia Chun is a licensed clinical psychologist and is the Executive Director of GIFT Counseling and Wellness Centers. She earned her B.A. from the University of Southern California in Psychology. She attended a teaching credential program after her B.A. and was a school teacher for five years. Later she pursued advanced graduate training and received her masters and doctorate in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology, Biola University (APA-accredited).
Dr. Lydia Chun has studied and worked in the field of mental health for more than 15 years. Her clinical training included an APA-approved internship at Pacific Clinics in Pasadena, CA with an emphasis on children, couples, and family therapy. Dr. Lydia Chun has received further postgraduate training in couples and family therapy and trauma treatment. She completed an externship in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy
(EFT). She is also a certified Gottman Educator for the Relationships Research Institute.
Dr. Lydia Chun has been trained in diverse theoretical orientations and treatment modalities including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, couple’s therapy, play therapy, children and adolescent and family therapy. She works with individuals, couples, adolescents and children on a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, and relationship and family problems. She also received further training in neurofeedback therapy at EEG Spectrum Institute to treat a variety of problems including ADHD, anxiety and depression.
Dr. Lydia Chun’s passion is to help people, couples and families to grow deeper in their relationship with themselves, each other, and God as they work through the challenges they face. She incorporates faith-based and Biblical principles in her work when appropriate. She desires to help others become the people God created them to be by working through patterns that prevent them from growing and reaching their full potential. She has been married for more than 25 years and has two children.
Dr. Joseph Chun graduated from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and UCLA School of Medicine. He trained at West L.A. Wadsworth Medical Center (Pathology), LAC-USC Medical Center (Internal Medicine and Pediatrics), and UCLA Medical Center in West Los Angeles (Allergy and Clinical Immunology). He also studied at Trinity College of Graduate Studies (Relational Psychology) and Talbot School of Theology (Institute of Spiritual Formation) and has practiced medicine over 20 years in Orange County.
Dr. Joseph Chun believes that true healing is brought about when all mind, body, spirit, and relationship are whole. At GIFT Life Fitness Center and GIFT for Well Being, he serves with the vision to practice and promote whole person healing.
